Bill Francos is a Patent Attorney of the firm, operating as William S. Francos, Esq., PLLC. Bill’s degrees include a Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law, a Master of Science in Physics from Lehigh University and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Franklin & Marshall College. Bill also completed two years of graduate study in Electrical Engineering at Lehigh University and the University of Delaware, where he conducted experimental research in Magneto-Optics and Digital Radio Frequency Communications.
A former Examiner at the USPTO, Bill has more than 25 years of experience in the field of intellectual property. This experience includes preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications, including affidavit, appeal and reexamination practice; preparing originally filed U.S. patent applications for international filing; providing substantive input to foreign agents during prosecution of foreign applications; rendering non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and advising clients regarding non-infringing designs; providing support for litigation and licensing; conducting due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures; and developing intellectual property strategies by counseling corporate management. His areas of technical experience include semiconductor devices and processing; passive and active optical devices; wireless communication systems; network processors integrated circuits; digital telephony; and medical devices and systems.
Bill is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
